Charles Burnett was recently ranked as one of the Fifty Best Living Directors.  I’ve been extremely fortunate to have done the music for the majority of his work since 1990.  He represents my longest working relationship with a director. Charles won a MacArthur Foundation genius award and his 1977 film "Killer of Sheep" was selected as being worthy of preservation by the Library of Congress.  His lyricism and  artistic integrity has inspired all of us who have had the pleasure o.
